ORANGE BOWL BOYS
Rob
I come from the mean streets of West Hartford, Connecticut… no, wait, that’s Toast’s bio. Sorry.
I come from the vanilla streets of suburban New Jersey, where I was a thriving theater geek until moving to South Florida to attend Florida Atlantic University. Now keep in mind, this was years before FAU had a football team, so we all just had t-shirts that said “Still Undefeated.”
After college I began interning with a dude named Toast, who at the time was a host and producer on the Paul & Young Ron Show on the legendary 94.9 Zeta in Miami. I knew I wanted to work there, and figured if that guy could pull it off, then why not me?! An internship turned into a producer’s job, which turned into five years of doing really stupid stuff on the airwaves of South Florida. I became a writer and a certified audio assassin.
I took a gig in 2006 to host the rebranded 99X morning show in Atlanta. The station was legendary. The opportunity was huge. And it turned out that the eventual rebrand was letting everyone go and flipping the station to Q100… which landed me square in the sports world. I began my current run as the Production Director for 680/93.7 The Fan in Atlanta. In 2009 we took over production for the Atlanta Braves, and running the largest radio network in professional sports became the second half of my job as we get ready for our 16th season of running Braves Radio.
In 2015 I was afforded the opportunity to help launch Shaquille O’Neal’s new podcast, and was lucky to be that show’s producer and co-host for 5 1/2 years. Almost six years chasing Shaq around will put some road miles on you, but I keep rolling. I’m the Executive Producer of this very show, the Orange Bowl Boys, and the producer and co-host of the Big Shot Bob podcast with NBA legend Robert Horry. I’ve also helped launch shows for Jay Cutler and Brett Favre, and consulted alongside some of the biggest brands in sports.
Thanks for being a part of the Orange Bowl Boys family! Now I’m sure wherever I am at this moment, I need a nap… so if you’ll excuse me…
